Generate Leads for your MLM by Staying Focused

No matter what happens in your day-to-day business, the only way you’re going to succeed at generating leads for your MLM is by remaining focused.

I don’t feel so great today. Yesterday, I didn’t feel so hot, either. A few days ago, my youngest came home from middle school with a sore throat and swollen glands, and she’s been passing around whatever ick she picked up there ever since.

But no matter how I feel, the truth is, I still have to work.

The good news is that I have a laptop, and so I don’t need to go into an office or trek downstairs to my desk to make money in MLM.

But no amount of technology can make me feel better, physically, or pump up my motivation level. (Or at least, none that I know of. If you have the inside scoop on something I need to know about, hook me up!)

And guess what? I still have to work.

Why, you ask?

Because I’m not in a position in my home-based business where I can take days off and let everything run on auto pilot.

Not yet, anyway.

The challenge is to stay motivated and tap into whatever energy resources I can muster so that I can keep the commitments I’ve made – to myself, and my family, and my business – no matter how I feel. Here is how I did just that today:

1) Short-term goals: I have a grid with blank boxes that I want to fill up with leads. It’s a big grid (I made the goal large enough that we are going to have to stretch if we’re going to succeed), but the names are filling up. Every day, I ask a “wonder” question: “I wonder where my next lead is going to come from?” And every day, I fill in a few more boxes. This is an example of a short-term goal that will yield long-term results, and one I want to reach, quickly.

That keeps me going.

2) I remind myself of my long-term goals: Everyone needs big goals that make them stretch. Next summer, my husband and I want to take our girls to Europe for a few months. We’ve done the math, we know how much it’s going to cost, and we know what we’re going to have to accomplish between now and then to make it happen. This kind of long-term goal keeps us focused and motivated, and it makes showing up for work fun.

That keeps me going as well.

3) I give thanks for what I have in the present: No matter how bad things get, I know I’ve got it pretty good. Ridiculously good, if you really think about it. Remembering to give thanks for what I have, right here, right now, actually lifts my spirits and helps me to keep going.

That totally keeps me going.

The next time you find your motivation lagging, I suggest your give any or all of these three techniques a try and see if it doesn’t give you the pick-me-up you need to keep going. Remember that your MLM success will be determined in the decisions you make in each little moment that eventually add up to big results. And in this business, you don’t have to wait too long to see the results of your hard work pay off. It’s only a matter of time.
